A blog is a must-have for those wishing to share their views and knowledge online, and receive comment and feedback. The better it looks, the more seriously people take you.
In the last few years blog technology has become freely available to everyone with an Internet connection. The basic technology for blogs is pretty standardised – you can tag, archive and of course comment on blog postings. You can upload images or videos and generally express yourself. And of course you can customise the blog design to fit your brand or your personal image.
Your blog is in effect your online ‘face’, and, as with people, judgements on blogs are made almost instantaneously as to whether someone’s going to stay around and read what you have to say or not. Chances are the majority of your blog visitors won’t even read a word to make that decision. They’ll make the decision based on your blog design.
Also, the fact that blog design is often sold as being easily customisable this does not equate with it being good, or with it being as flexible as you might like.
